why 4wd advisory exists
After more than a decade in the automotive industry, working in accounting, management, sales, and even the occasional tyre fitting, I still love one thing most: 4WDs, a passion I’ve had since I was eight. Along the way, I've seen how dealerships operate, how accessory shops push product, and how good people can make expensive mistakes based on advice from those with something to gain.
Time and again, I've watched people spend tens of thousands on modifications only to find their setups weren't safe, legal, or suited to the way they actually travel - poor towing setups, overlooked weight limits, conflicting advice online, and sales-driven recommendations.
4WD Advisory was created to fill a gap that barely exists in the market: honest, independent, experience-based guidance. Every forum has an agenda. Every shop has inventory to move. Every dealer has targets. I don’t. My advice doesn’t change based on who’s in the room. It’s focused on practical solutions, real-world touring, safety, and helping families avoid costly, frustrating mistakes.

from our founder
over a decade in the automotive industry across finance, operations and general management
I’ve spent most of my career working closely with customers on their 4WD's. Over the years I’ve been involved in everything from vehicle builds and customer planning through to the day-to-day realities of how these setups actually perform in the real world.
Outside of work, 4WDing and touring is something I genuinely love and live every chance I get. My wife, kids, and I spend a lot of time travelling in our own 4WD and caravan setup, getting away from the day-to-day chaos and exploring different parts of Australia together.
At the moment, I’m rebuilding my own 105 Series LandCruiser with a converted 1HD-FTE engine - a project that’s become a bit of a passion build and probably sums me up pretty well. I love the whole process of researching, planning, and building vehicles that are capable, reliable, and enjoyable to drive both on and off the road.
For me, some of the best moments are setting up the caravan at a new spot, testing out 4WD tracks, and seeing what both the vehicle and the destination can handle. Ending the day around the fire pit with a good meal and a stubby in hand is what it’s all about.
A huge part of why I started 4WD Advisory Group is because I want to help more people experience that lifestyle with confidence. Whether it’s family camping trips, towing a caravan around Australia, or building a capable weekend tourer, I genuinely enjoy helping people create setups that allow them to safely explore this incredible country with the people they care about most.
